Chris Ayton

Chris Ayton is a partner at Alternative Investment Group responsible for investment management. He joined Alternative Investment Group in March 2008 and is based in London. He focuses on identifying and evaluating strategies and managers, especially Europe and Asia-focused long/short equity managers, for the firm’s U.S. and international portfolios.
Previously, Chris was a senior member of the investment team at leading investment consulting firm Stamford Associates Limited, where he gained approximately twelve years of manager research experience, over half of which was as the firm’s Head of Manager Research. While this position provided exposure to many investment strategies and geographies, Chris specialized for over 10 years in managers investing in Asian markets including Japan. Chris was also instrumental in putting into place Stamford Associates’ manager research disciplines which were adopted across the firm. Prior to joining Stamford Associates in 1995, Chris worked at Bacon & Woodrow as a trainee actuary.
Chris graduated in 1994 with a BSc. in Economics from University of Southampton.
